We've having lovely afternoons but waking up to crunchy snow! It's gone by noon, but it's COLD!
- Last night, I didn't make it to book group. Doug had a stake meeting. The girls needed me at home . So, we watched American Idol. (Remind me NOT to go to my Facebook page just before Idol. That's two weeks in a row that I knew who went home because people posted spoilers. Grrr.) Gracie asked me to curl her hair into a million curls. Today, she and Zeej are helping my amazing niece Brooke with a photoshoot. All I can say is "YIPPIE SKIPPY! " when Brooke needs their "help"! Her skill and talent with the camera are incredible, so I'l excited that soon, we'll have some fabulous new photos of the girls, taken by the best photographer I've yet to meet! Woohooo!
- Holy cow, this week has flown by. It always seems that once the time changes, the days whiz by and we're into summer vacation before we know it. Other than the holidays, it's the busiest time of the year. Our weekend plans include date night, yard work, Buddy's birthday, a baby shower and some honey-do chores.
- When Dad and I visited yesterday, his treatment effects are starting to kick in. He's tired, he's sick, he's not loving life today. Yesterday, he wondered if it's all going to be worth it. It's hard to see him hurting so and especially, when I can't be there to help him like I did my mother when she had cancer. Continued prayers are appreciated.
- Gracie spent three hours tearing her room apart, going through every inch of our home looking for the vest that she received as a Christmas gift. To no avail. How, exactly, do things disappear in a home that gets dejunked as often as this one does? I don't get it. Then, this morning, when during our morning chat, I mentioned it to Carol. She said, "Um, I think that's at my house. I'm off for a quick drive to pick it up so we can meet Brooke in time." Nothing like a little added excitement to the morning!
Last night, ZJ did a table display of stuffed animals in her room. She has a tendency to want to share her enthusiasm about things just at bedtime. She spent 30 minutes describing each of her animals and why they were dressed the way that they were. I had to take a picture and share. This girl is so right brained!
- Someone has sent me a subscription to Real Simple Magazine. No card, no note, just the magazine started coming a few months ago. I thought it must have been a trial sample at first but it continues to come. To my "Real Simple friend", thank you. I absolutely love it! And so does Liza!
- This month's question page in Real Simple is "How do you snap out of a bad mood?" I loved the question and the answers...from pounding a punching bag to donate to a charity, to vent to a friend for 20 minutes to watch Saturday Night Live. For me, I've thought about it...when I'm super cranky, I clean. It's like purging my frustrations as I wipe away fingerprints and dejunk. OR I walk. There's seriously nothing like walking out the door feeling ready to explode and breathing in the fresh air, even when it's freezing outside! Within a block, the endorphines that kick in usually have me looking at everything from a brighter perspective. Love it! Love Real Simple. Love my secret friend!
That's it, this morning! No spell check. No double check. Sorry for the mistakes! Have a wondermous weekend!
For every minute you are angry,
you lose sixty seconds of happiness.
Sophia thats so funny because someone sent me that same magazine, same thing no card no note just a new magazine in the mailbox!
