We had a pretty quiet calm weekend. The biggest excitement of our weekend was two barbecues and seeing Pirates 4 with the Bs.
The kids didn't like the movie near as much as the others because they missed Will Turner and Elizabeth. (I have to admit, I missed Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley myself.) They can't wait for the fifth movie so that they can see the Black Pearl again. I liked it much better than 2 or 3, but the first will always be my favorite.
OH MY HECK! I just about died when the gal at the ticket booth said, "$40" for five tickets at 10AM! I had no idea that it was in 3-D. We'll be seeing our movies not in 3-D from now on. I've never been a big 3-D fan, but for ten extra dollars, I knowthat I don't like them! Miki was too cute with her little 3-D glasses on. She loved popcorn but even more, she loved the Junior Mints!
The biggest laugh of the weekend came from ZJ, who was playing with the 3-D glasses at home. Here's the conversation:
ZJ: 3-D glasses are pretty cool.
Me: I don't get 3-D glasses.
ZJ: What do you mean?
Me: I just don't get how they work.
ZJ (very matter of factly): You put them on.
Okey dokey, then, Zeej.
So, this week, the end of school, garden almost done planting, the beginning of summer. HOPEFULLY, we'll turn off our furnace soon! Then, we can think about the pool. It's the first year not to have put it up on Memorial Day weekend... just to look at it until the last week in June. Doug's happy not to yet because he doesn't have to clean and vacuum it for the extra month when no one is swimming anyway. The kids didn't even mention it over the weekend. It still feels like winter! Enough said.
The distance is nothing; it's only the first step that is difficult.
