I loved the quotes and thoughts shared regarding yesterday's blog entry! I'll be sharing them, for sure!
- It's the last day of school and a beautiful one at that! The kids have less than half day today and will all be home for the summer! We'll then, run into town to do a few errands, have our traditional lunch out to celebrate the summer and then let the parties begin! They've got big plans already for all of the things that they want to do this summer. I have a feeling that I'm going have to learn to love camping! And I don't mean at the Marriot! The weather is supposedto be H-O-T soon, so we may try to talk Doug into putting up the pool soon since it takes it a week to warm up enough to swim in. Summer, at last!
- Quayd came home yesterday with an award for recognition of his effort in school this past year. Gracie came home with a blue ribbon for being on the honor roll twice! ZJ came home with prizes from the school's annual carnival, so it was a good day for everyone! Well, except Doug. He came home with an achey jaw from a root canal. Ugh.
- Kelly and Zaylee came to spend the afternoon with me. We went over to the B's and played cards while Miki and Zaylee played on the swing together. It's cute to watch them play together. I do love being a grammie!
- Liza and Buddy dropped by later in the night. We were discussing college educations and I joked that Doug was going to go back to school to become the world's oldest nurse. (I've thought that he would be a fabulous nurse since we were first married, back when there were not very many male nurses.) We had the best time teasing about Doug being a nurse. First we had to explain to the babes who Dr. Kavorkian is because Doug would have a hard time watching people suffer. Then, we teased that his solution for every ache and pain would be "fiber!" And a pitossin drip would never fly because it has sugar in it. ZJ added that he would tell all of the patients to "cowboy up!" You had to be there but it was quite funny!
I'm behind this morning on everything because I've been reading! Short and sweet today, for sure. But, life is good! Quote today from blogging friend, Melanie! I love it!
Our attitude towards life determines life's attitude toward us.
I love your new hair cut! I don't think I've told you yet, sorry. I love that you have such a wonderful extended family and you're so accepting of your children. D's last day of school is tomorrow and next year he's off to 9th grade. We're very excited to get the adoption finalized. He's been talking about high school, but I think I'm nervous for him! Have a wonderful day!!!
