The mammogram "party" went well. I was happy to hear that I'm good to go for one more year. We went to Chili's after for lunch and I have to say, there's a reason that I love our Chili's! When Carol and I went last week, I'd ordered this new Santa Fe Chicken Wrap. SO NUMMY! And something that I can eat! I had mentioned to our server that I couldn't have iceburg lettuce last week. Today, we had a new server. After I'd ordered, she came back and said, "Now, you did want me to hold the lettuce because you can't have that, right?" I had no clue that lettuce was in this wrap but the server we'd had last week noticed that I'd ordered it again and remembered that I couldn't eat it, so she told today's server. That, my friends, is service! I heart Chili's!
Grace came home tonight so totally excited about her Young Womens activity. She has such great leaders! It's a good feeling to know that there are women leaders who care and are organized and so on top of things!
I spend another day busy with kids and never pulled out the camera. Quayd's room is a fright with the carpet pulled up and everything stacked. Maybe I should pull the camera out and show that! We've had his window open and full force fans blowing the carpet dry so that it can be laid back down. So much to do, but, in looking for the good in this little challenge, it's a greatopportunity to dejunk his room to the bone! That, I can live with!
My dad and I had a great talk tonight. He's so excited about living his life serving others and showing gratitude for his new life ahead. After all that my Dad has experienced in his life, this is just as much a miracle as the fact that his cancer has been cured. Tonight, he was talking about when he comes out here to visit next spring! This is huge. I'm very happy to finally, in my old age, have a relationship with my dad!
I'm quite excited about the bridal shower that I'm hosting next week! My head is filled with shower thoughts about every other minute. It feels great to feel great!
I've had such a funky summer that I'm also getting excited to get back into "real" blogging again, sharing ideas, recipes, sentiments. This summer, it's been more of a "what I did on my summer vacation" blog. Sorry. Three more weeks!
Never discourage anyone…who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.
I love the idea of a 'Mammogram Party'. Wonderful way to share & encourage others. I think I will plan on for next year - Thanks for the great idea (for all the great ideas you share).
