Our nephew,
Tyson and his lovely bride, CarolAnn's wedding was a delight. She made the most beautiful bride and Tyson is just as sweet as ever. I loved watching his face just beaming through the entire ceremony. I loved meeting CarolAnn's dad and seeing her Mom, Marti, again. The wedding was beautiful, the reception was great, the whole day was perfection.
Yesterday's blog photo was my favorite that I took myself. Traditionally, after an LDS Temple wedding, the family and friends gather and wait outside for the bride and groom to exit the temple together for photos. There's always cheers when they walk outside. These two shots were of two of the most tender moments. CarolAnn's little nephews raced to the door for a hug and a kiss from both the bride and the groom. It was just plain too sweet! We enjoyed a lovely salmon luncheon at Hamilton's and got to know Doug's sister's next door neighbors. The reception was a great opportunity to see family from both Doug's mom and dad's sides of the family. It truly was a wonderful day!
A few other weekend ramblings:
- The rest of our weekend was spent around the house, getting things on Doug's to-Do list accomplished. My one request for the weekend was that we burn some of the tree trimmings he's been piling up all spring and summer. So, we built a bon-fire and after it had burned down quite a bit, we had the B's over for hotdogs to be roasted in the fire. It was casual and relaxing...if you don't mind chasing an 18 month old Miki around the yard to keep her off the pool ladder and away from the fire. She's so dang cute, but she's got a mind of her own!! She keeps Wendy and Stott busy, busy and tired! (PS... remind me that hotdogs are not acceptable eating for my body ever again. I'm learning this the hard way, but I'm learning.)
- Tonight, everyone went to be early as the kids will be going back to school this week. Tomorrow, we have to get the kids registered since I missed both of their registrations last week when we had car troubles. Then, it's shoe shopping and school supplies and we are done! THANKFULLY!
- I will spend most any spare time this week really assembling all of the reading and thoughts that I've had for my Relief Society lesson next Sunday. I'm so excited for these next few lessons. I do love my calling in our ward!
- GREAT NEWS! Buddy got a job this weekend and Liza is one of the two final applicants for a job! Everything is going well and smooth for them ~ except their internet! We've skyped once in about five short intervals because it keeps shutting down. They're looking into other companies/options tomorrow. I can't wait! In the meantime, they love their new ward, their new apartment complex and Liza loves the heat. (I just don't get that!)
- The weather is cooling down, the days are getting shorter, it's feeling like fall. This afternoon, I actually started thinking about fall decorating! And canning! And we picked our first peach yesterday! My favorite time of the year! Life is good!
To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.
Carol Ann is a beautiful girl. She lives in my ward and I taught her in third grade. It's a small world.
