We had a pretty tame weekend, compared to the rest of the week! We had datenight with Stott and Wendy on Friday afternoon/evening. Saturday, we worked at home. Sunday, church. The end. A few details.
Movie: We went to see Cowboys and Aliens with the B's for our date. I walked out. Literally. Left them in the theater and went outside to enjoy the sunshine. Doug, Stott and Wendy liked it. Wendy was surprised that I'd even said I'd go to it. Oh my gosh, it was lame... at least, my definition of lame. If you like Alien movies, I guess you'll like it too. But, I'll stick to chick flicks, thank you.
Dinner: Chili's Margerita Grilled Chicken. OH MY! I'm just saying! Go now and try it! You'll like it!
Zaylee: Speaking of "you'll like it", we kept Zaylee Saturday night so that we could take her with us to church today. (We ended up taking her home this morning because she had green slimy nose and a croupy cough and they don't like that in the nursery.) However. Last night, during dinner, the babes were loving dinner and saying, "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it!" This went on everytime anyone wanted more. Zaylee, then, piped up and said, "I like it! I love it! I want some more cheese!" We all burst out laughing. She's so dang cute!
Rick: My brother came to visit Mom this weekend. We've not been close for years but he did come over to the house to visit a bit. We spent a few hours together and it was pleasant. He's been through a lot this past six months, spending much of it in the hospital. He also had his closest friend/boss pass away suddenly a few weeks ago. So, maybe that's softened him a bit. Regardless, it was nice to see him.
Pool: It's cool. In the mornings, in the evenings. Even though it's 90 degrees in the daytime, it's chilled the water to the point that we'll probably take the pool down this week. Quayd has begged us to have one little neighborhood gathering before we do. We'll see. We've not done it once all season, compared to last year's every other week. The kids got in with Doug on Saturday afternoon and it didn't last long. They were frozen! We figured that would be the last swim of the season. But, maybe not. Next year, we're going to try a new way of heating the water. We'll see how that goes. Regardless, we're heading into fall quickly!
School: I'm school shopping tomorrow for the kids. Quayd's the only one left to really stock up for. Then the school supply shopping will be next week, just before they go back. I can't believe it! Next Thursday! I'm so not ready for routines and homework!
Dale: I received a very short and sweet email from Dale this weekend. It said he loves me. It made my day.
House: I've found another home. It's one we've loved since we were first married. Lots of character. Needs a ton of work! But, that's what I'm looking for... a decorating dream challenge. I'll be speaking with the realtor tomorrow. It's got to 200% perfect. Again, the outside is our dream. I've been through this home and would loved to have bought it years and years ago. We're not really looking...unless the home is exactly what I want to live and die in, it's not even considerable. We'll see if it's even doable tomorrow, if possible! (But, truthfully, my fingers are crossed.)
Liza and Buddy: They'll be job hunting tomorrow. They attended their new ward and were very impressed with the organization of the leaders. It's a transient ward, but they felt very welcomed. Liza's almost done unpacking. Oops is adjusting. Liza can't get enough of the sunshine. When she called tonight, at 10PM, it was 101 degrees! That's just plain wrong.
And that's that! I'm going to play a few rounds of Words with Friends on my iPhone and call it a day! Life is good!

The Margarita Grilled Chicken is my favorite at Chili's...and it's a healthier choice than most items at restaurants. I've even made it at home and it came out wonderful!

I ordered a pool cover for my small pool this year. Got it at Overstock.com. When I opened the package I was surprised to find it wasn't just a cover, it is a solar cover. I seriously doubted that it would work, but boy was I surprised, it raised the temp of the pool about fifteen degrees. Pretty low tech with high tech results. Best part - it only cost $12.00 plus shipping. Just passing on the info.
