Denise and I went to breakfast this morning, then a quick run through at Hobby Lobby and I came home feeling worse by the minute. Denise has been sick for two weeks. I teased her today, "We share everything." Ugh. But, I'm still alive. Just a bit achey and with a very sore throat.
Kelly and Zaylee came over for the day and spent the afternoon and evening. Doug took her to pick up their new car. Kelly is so excited about this new vehicle and sees her little accident as a blessing. Doug and I liked her driving in a big old tank because she was safer. But, I get that she wants a newer vehicle. She's thrilled.
Tonight, we skyped with Liza and Buddy while they had dinner. I hadn't eaten much since breakfast but Buddy's spaghetti looked so good! It was good to laugh and chat with them for a while. Other than that, I've got nothing done today at all, other than play with my girls and watch a little of the news tonight. And that's perfectly fine with me. I'm ready for sleep!
Here's another recipe. Buddy baked these cookies while Liza and I were in North Carolina. They were soooooooooooo good! I brought a Ziplo of them home and snitched one. Have I mentioned that I love my daughter's husband!?
Buddy's Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup butter
Mix until creamy.
2 Cups flour
2 cups oatmeal (blend it in the blender until it becomes floury. Buddy suggested blending 1 1/2 cups and adding the other 1/2 cup as oats)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt (if desired.)
Mix the dry ingredients then blend into the sugar mixture.
4 ounces of chopped chocolate candy bar
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
nuts, if desired
Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. The lower temperature made them soft and nummy! It made about five dozen cookies. Enjoy!
If I felt any better, I'd bake some of these right now. But, I think I'll just settle for the apple that I called dinner. Good night.
