We had a wonderful family night with the B's. I've never shared this before on the blog but the B's, different B's than Stott and Wendy, adopted Kelly's fourth child. We've been developing a relationship with them over the past year and absolutely love our time together. Quayd is one happy camper to have a (half) "brother". The girls think it's pretty awesome to have a whole other family to connect with. What Kelly's choices have done to our lives is definitely unique and interesting BUT ! We wouldn't change a thing! We are so blessed to have so many children in our lives to love and along with J, we got two very cute little girls to go with! Too much fun!
From the minute we got together, the boys were inseparable. We took them all to Mickey D's after the Pumpkin walk and I overheard J say, "I get to sit with my big brother!" Then a few seconds later, J's little sister who's five said, "I get to sit with my big sisters!"
I know... to some, this whole situation of children adopted and us adopting entire families may not be easy to understand. BUT. It works for us. And that's all that matters. We love these children, who were born our grands, and love their families who've adopted them. We feel that they are truly our family! Had Miki not had a fever and been feeling under the weather, both of the B families would have gathered with us tonight. Had Kelly ever answered her phone, we'd have brought Zaylee along too. Don't ask. And don't call Jerry Springer. We feel blessed. And while some may look and wonder "What the heck?", we just look at our situation with these beautiful grands and smile. How many people get to have "bonus" family that come with their grandchildren? Life is good.
And so was the Pumpkin Walk! with Tigger...
And the cast of Despicable Me...
And the Nightmare before Christmas...
And the Land of OZ
Even the Angry Birds...
and Calvin and Hobbes (which we heard the kids behind us ask, "Who's that?" SADNESS!)
It was all good! Enough said!
Biology is the least of what makes someone family.
The two boys certainly look alike!! And I think you have handled the "Kelly situation" so well and made so many people (adults and kids) so happy. They are blessed to be raised by such wonderful parents!

The two boys sure do look like brothers! It just means more people to love, and truly, it's nobody else's busines, right???
Bless Kelly's heart, for creating all this "family" to be part of your family!

I love it Sophia... just love it... the more people who love a child... the better off the child is.

You can certainly see likenesses in the boys. And they look very happy to be brothers. What a fun, extended family you have! I love the fact that you have made what could be a very difficult situation work for your family.

What a cool pumpkin walk! I've tried to keep track of your family situation when you bring it up on your blog. It is what it is and I'm certainly never going to judge. I think that your attitude towards the challenges that have come your way is admirable and your children/grandchildren are so lucky to have you in their lives. You and your hubby are great role models.
