Ten things I did today:
- Ordered the papergoods for the Stake Dinner that I'm decorating for this weekend.
- Went to Sam's Club to pick up more things for the dinner
- Had lunch at Chili's with Denise
- LOVED the new Philly Cheese Sandwich on Chili's new menu
- Had a lovely much-needed two hour experience with my friend/foot zoner
- Made a tasty dinner
- Washed our bedding
- Taught ZJ how to sew a "tube" and turn it inside out
- Gave a Family Home Evening lesson on using good language
- Hugged Doug for a very long time in the kitchen
Nine people I talked with today:
- Carol
- The CPA’s receptionist
- Denise
- Scott ~ the High Counselor over the Stake Dinner
- The bank
- Liza
- My Relief Society President
- Friend Liz
- Dad
Eight things I was grateful for today:
- Liza's gratitude. She's started baking homemade bread without a mixer. I sent her a little surprise ~ a bulk size package of dry yeast. She called when she got home from work and her first words were, "You love us." I knew that she'd received the yeast. She's a very gracious daughter.
- Denise's friendship. I am blessed.
- Marilyn, my footzoning friend, who never ceases to amaze me with her wisdom.
- Gracie's prayer tonight. "I'm thankful that we are such a happy family." A mama moment indeed.
- Doug's hug. He didn't have to say a word, just held me for about five minutes. The best medicine in the world.
- My new camera. Isn't the midday moon beautiful?
- Five of my six children were sweet and kind to their mama today. (I only spoke with five of the six, so that was battin' a hundred!)
- ZJ is serious about learning to sew. She's determined and loving every step of her journey. I'm excited for her.
Seven things I ate today:
- Chili's new tasty soup.
- Chili's Philly Steak Sandwich
- Five. Exactly five. Chili's Chips with Avocado Ranch dressing and salsa.
- A Burrito
- A very tasty salad
- A spoon of Nutella. (Okay. Two.)
- Pepsi. (No amount to be mentioned.)
Six things I said today:
- I love you!
- Thank you.
- You're amazing.
- Why do I do this to myself? (Dang Nutella.)
- I can't find my keys. (They're having a sleepover at Chili's tonight.)
- No, I don't want to leave a message. I'm still waiting for him to return my call from last week's message. (I was getting a little cranky, can you tell?)
Five things I should have done today that I didn’t:
- Put away the rest of the laundry (It will still be there when I wake up.)
- Called ZJ's piano teacher about changing her lesson day.
- I should have run back to grab my keys at Chili's, but I'll be there for lunch tomorrow. They'll still be there too.
- I forgot to buy spray adhesive while at Hobby Lobby.
- I didn't order some photo prints for my mother. Oops.
Four things said to me today:
- "I'm sorry, he's not available right now.
- I love you, darlin'. (I heart my dad. He always tells me that.)
- Can I come and have you teach me to be organized?
- Mom, you know everything.
Three things that shocked me today:
- There's not a snowflake "anything" to be found in this valley. There's barely any Christmas stuff left anywhere.
- My sister-in-law's sister's husband was just diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer. Arthur is in our prayers!
- It was C-O-L-D!
Two things that I’ve GOT to do tomorrow:
- Buy Spray Adhesive
- Make some "snowballs"
One thing I want to remember about this day: :
-
A few minutes of the afternoon when I felt like I really understood something/someone. It's something I've been praying for for quite some time. Clarity, today, was a gift... a tender mercy. Enough said.
All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered;
the point is to discover them.
Love this post! And the beautiful picture too! What make is your camera? I need to get a new one too.
