Liza and Buddy made it home safely, as did we. It was a pretty intense drive to and from the Salt Lake Airport. I'd had high hopes of us making some fun new memories on Temple Square in Salt Lake City to replace our last trip down with Liza and Buddy, which has been several years. So, here's the old one. It will have to do until next year.

HOWEVER. The storm was much more than a light falling snow. The roads were a nightmare. 72 accidents reported yesterday on I-15. That said, we went to the airport and home. Period. However, it couldn't be anymore beautiful outside my front window!
Our time with Liza and Buddy was just the best. I could not ask for more. Literally, the only thing that I'd even think about changing about their visit would be to make it last longer! We played games galore, ate more than I'll admit to, stayed up far too late, slept far too little and played some more. Perfection!! Perfect Perfection! YES!!!
Saying good-bye was so hard. It always is. Oh my gosh, I love that daughter of mine! We got home about half an hour before their plane landed in Phoenix, so I checked Delta on-line and tracked the plane every minute, seeing their altitude, how many minutes until they landed, awesome! As Liza said, kinda creepy, but cool.
Today, Liza is back to work at the bank, Buddy is home putting things away, and our home is back to normal. All the holiday stuff is put away, I'm cleaning and resting the foot and knees, then cleaning some more. We have tons of leftovers, so I won't have to cook for a few days, other than figuring out ways to use it so that the kids don't realize it's the same thing again. The house looks good, feels clutter-free and Doug's favorite part...The Christmas music is gone until next November. (Except for those days in July when I'm feeling the need!)
We have promised Quayd a run into Hobby Lobby for paint in a bit and then, the girls are begging for a Shrek Marathon. Go figure? I think I will pick up some yard at Hobby Lobby. I've knitted everyone in the family something wonderful. They were all very happy with their new scarves and hats. Now, it's time to knit something for myself! And I need to exchange the puzzle that I bought for this year because...it's the same one I bought year before last! I must have liked it, I guess. But, not enough to do it again!
Time to start thinking about the year in review and writing down the resolutions that I've been making for myself. Learning to knit will not be on this years list...for the first time in forever! HAPPINESS!!!

Happy you made it home safely! It looks like a much worse winter storm than the one we had here. Beautiful picture of a winter scene... But when you have to drive in it,not so beautiful!
