Not much to share really. The short of it all.. casual, calm weekend.
Friday ~ Doug and I ran errands, had lunch at Costa Vida, then stopped at a certain store in town that had one line open. ONE. We had grabbed about ten items, that totaled up to about $60 and were trying to beat the clock to get to the theater in time to see Lincoln. A few minutes before the movie and still two people in line in front of us, I left everything and we raced to the theater. The new owners of the theater now has reserved seating only, even if there are only five people in the theater. The couple in line in front of us were trying to decide where to sit (there were literally, only seven seats taken, so I decided to get our popcorn while waiting. Due to the extra cold weather, right now, you purchase tickets at the concession stand. I was watching the clock because the movie began at 1:30. The gal asked if I wanted to just pay for the tickets with the treats, since they were using the same computer/register. I said, "Thanks! Two for Lincoln." That's when they informed me that Lincoln wasn't playing there. I pulled up my ap on my iPhone and it said it was. Nope. It's at the theater two miles north. And it starts in one minute. But, there's fifteen minutes of previews, so we should be fine. We raced out to the truck and to the next theater. There were four cars in the parking lot. A couple in line were getting their popcorn and drinks. ONE person was working concessions and taking tickets, as well. The couple were not sure what to drink. And which treats to get. Knowing that the previews were well under way, I asked, "What time does the movie actually begin?" The worker said, "It's starting, but I've seen it and you really won't miss anything." Okey dokey then. Doug and I didn't go to the movies. We went home and I began a puzzle. Two in one year! What's up with that?!

Saturday ~ We spent the day at home. It's been so cold that no one wants to leave unless it's absolutely necessary! I worked on my puzzle and reviewed my lesson until evening, when I went over to Carol's for a few hours while Doug and the kids went to bed early! When I got home, Doug was wide awake, so we watched Elementary on the TiVo. We LOVE this new show! Unfortunately, we were both completely irresponsible and went to bed at 2AM. We sort of let it slip that we had to be up at 7 for church!
Sunday ~ Up at 6:55, Doug had an early morning meeting and I review my lesson once more. Have I mentioned that I'm loving teaching Gospel Principles. It's so amazing how much we all can get from an occasional review of the basics. LOVE IT!! Love the class, which continues to grow and love what I'm learning/relearning most of all! I do love to teach!
After church, our Home Teachers came over and watched me preparing our part of dinner to take to Carol's. I made the luscious Paula Dean Banana Pudding off a Pinterest Recipe. How could it be anything but delish with cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk in it! A huge hit! (This photo is off of Pinterest but mine looked exactly the same. It disappeared to quick to photograph!

2 small boxes French Vanilla or Banana Instant Pudding (I used one of each)
3 cups milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
12 oz. cool whip
bananas (about 4-5)
1 box vanilla wafers
Mix the puddings until thickened. In separate bowl, mix the sweetened condense milk and cream cheese, then fold in the cool whip. In trifle bowl or 9x13" pan, layer vanilla wafers, then bananas, then pudding, then cream. Repeat until filled. ENJOY!!!
We came home from Carol's in time for Doug to head to a meeting and then hit the hay in time for work! And me... I worked on the puzzle until I could not keep my eyes open. There is a reason that I only do one a year! This one just happened to call my name from the game closet. Grace is now prepared to re-do it herself in her room. She's caught the "puzzle bug".
Speaking of bugs, ZJ has it again. We wish we had some answers for her. It's really frustrating to have a child who can't drink or eat without getting a tummy ache. There has to be some explanation!
That's our weekend... not much excitement at our home lately. We prefer to keep it that way. Life is good!
Be too positive to be doubtful,
too optimistic to be fearful,
and too determined to be defeated!
I too have heard that Lincoln was very good. It is on my list! Sorry to hear about ZJ:( we had similar issues with a couple of my kiddos. It's still a mystery.

I would take zj off of gluten foods for two weeks and see if that helps. Naomi is going thru the same thing right now and we are pretty sure she has a gluten intolerance that makes her tummy hurt every time she eats. Its a pain but might be worth it. miss you guys!

I would reconsider seeing the "Lincoln" movie. Haven't seen it myself, but my friends that have seen it says it's very good. Mmmm! Love banana pudding! Sure hope ZJ feels better soon!
