It's Friday morning. We've been up and going since six and are making huge strides this morning. I love it when Doug has the day off!
Still to do from the previous lists this week:
- Stain the drawers.
- Paint the kitchen with Primer
- Remove the Swamp Cooler Vent (another "it's not top priority" because it can be done during the reflooring)
- Paint the kitchen/dining room and hall ceiling
- Pack the Hummels from the entry way cabinet
Thursday's list:
- Final Left Knee Injection! (Ouch! This one hurt more than the first two. It really slowed me down yesterday and kept me awake all night long. First right knee injection is Monday. I'm really not excited about this one after the last 24 hours. BUT. I'm half way through, the way I see it, and they are making a difference. Worth the pain.)
- Finish painting hall and any spots missed in the kitchen, dining room and hall
- Clean up Painting messes
- Doug starts painting the trim in hallway (It's be nice if he finished it too, but nearly impossible in one night. It has to be finished by Saturday night.)
- Master Bedroom Closet Empty! All clothes hung in the garage. (Thank you, Quayd. The boy is a machine when he wants to be!)
- Bedroom walls undecorated and packed
- Lazy Boy out of Gallery(Change of plans, we removed a table instead)
- Our bed disassembled
- Our mattress and Box Springs on floor in Gallery
- Study lesson
Friday and Saturday's lists:
- Living room empty of decor
- Bedroom completely empty of decor
- Remaining doors removed
- Guys move all furniture out of living room and bedroom
- Carpet ripped out of living room
- Room vacuumed and ready for new carpet
- Study lesson
- Paint remaining trim
- Remaining doors removed
- Finish painting the ceilings
- Remove the hardware from the Living room Bay window
- Paint the ceiling of the Bay Window
- Select new living room carpet... Change of plans. Doug doesn't like the original choice, so we'll be going today to find Plan B and praying that we can get it here by Monday morning.
- Lunch date with my sweetheart!
Sunday's list:
- Teach Sunday School lesson
- REST!!! Enjoy the Sabbath!
- Do not lift a finger related to the whole re-do!
Doug's painting already. We slept on our Queen size bed in the gallery, which has one six inch space to walk in around two sides of the bed and a little spot for my chair to pull out from the desk so that I can still be at the computer, when necessary. Fortunately, the downstairs doesn't have a thing out of place. We'll be living down there for the next few days! Connie, Denise and Natalie are taking good care of us with meals. Guy friends are coming tonight to help move the furniture out. We are almost there...even though the list still looks daunting, we're definitely on the downside of the work...UNTIL WE HAVE TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER! ;)
Quayd has memorized today's quote this past month and quotes it often (especially when he hears his sisters say, "I can't"). It applies this weekend! It's the weekend and life is good!
There is no chance, no destiny, no fate that can circumvent,
or hinder, or control the firm resolve of a determined soul.
I am amazed at all the renovation work you are doing, this is a big job to do without professional help! Two years ago, our kitchen was totally redone, we were a whole week without a kitchen... Lots of restaurant and take out meals and a big mess in the house but what a satisfaction when it was all done. I can't wait to see the pics of your new kitchen and all the renovations you did. Have a great weekend and enjoy the Sabbath!
