Zaylee made a discovery this weekend. Nutella. And we have laughed ever since. I decided to try some Nutella Rice Krispy Treats and when I reached for the Nutella, the jar was all but empty. Zaylee asked what it was and I let her smell the jar. "MMMMM!!! CWOCAWATE!" We all laughed and I handed her a butter knife. There was less than a tablespoon left at the bottom of the jar. I figured she would taste it and toss the jar. One hour later, she came to me and said, "Gwammie! I like that! Buy some more, please!" The jar was all but clean! She'd not missed a drop!
Quayd has a talent... sometimes not appreciated. You know how Jim Carrey can make a thousand faces. Well, Quayd can make a thousand voices and sounds. It's often to the point of annoying (especially to his sisters), but this weekend, we found a great purpose for his many voices! Reading to Zaylee. I had to come into the room and be entertained myself as he read "Green Eggs and Ham". Too funny!
This morning was the first morning that the kids are gone and Zaylee is here all alone with no meetings or places to go. She's bored crazy by 9AM! It's going to be a long two weeks until she starts school. Her companions are gone and Grammie just isn't the same. Sadness. We will be baking cookies and I think we might have to do some shopping just to keep busy. She asked me already this morning if we could go to Chili's. Yikes! I'm sure we can "muster up" something to do. Sounds like a good opportunity to find some service to do!
The kids are loving school. They are getting busy right off the bat. Piano lessons begin soon. Quayd's decided to give it another go. ZJ's passing this year. Grace can't wait. Canning season is upon us. Green beans this past week. Salsa is soon to come! Life is good. Summer's really over, like it or now, but life is good!
The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.
