Zaylee and I ran all morning yesterday... from her Play Therapy to shopping to lunch with Denise at Firehouse to Habalabalaba (Hobby Lobby) to a short nap before her visit with her parents late in the afternoon. She had a good day. I was touched that she carried around her turtle all day long while we were at home and left him at the door waiting for her in between. The turtle's name has changed five times and is now KT Myra Turtle. She's also decided that Liza's baby should be "Baby A Angel Sparkle". She's quite original with names!
We had about thirty-eight drops of rain in the late afternoon but it made for a beautiful rainbow and sunset. The photo does nothing for it but it was truly one of the most vibrant rainbows we have ever seen. The double that followed was even more awesome.
Here's a few completely rambling thoughts...
Zaylee and I just played a game of war. The girls taught her how to play and she seriously gets it. She knows that the King is higher than the Queen and Jack and that the "A" is the highest of all.
We have nothing on our agenda today, so we may make some salsa or peach jam... both need making!
Tonight, I'll be watching the Skyview Marching Band dressed rehearsal and praying for good weather for them!
Doug's company let go of twenty-some employees over the last week. We are soooooooo thankful that he still has a job!
Liza's doctor says all is well. I'm seriously freaking out over the fact that three weekends from now, she's due to have this baby! It's hit me hard in the last two days. I've moved beyond the "YAY! Liza's having a baby!" to "It's a girl!" to "OH MY HECK! She's almost here!!!"
Last night's dinner included a great way to use up mashed potatoes... I followed a combination of about four Pinterest recipes for Potato Cakes. WOW! The kids loved them. How did we live before Pinterest? Just sayin'?
Life is grand...especially when the sound of a giggling four year old fills our home!
When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate.
When life is bitter, say thank you and grow.
