Sadness. My laptop is giving up the ghost. All of the USB ports have died. The disc drive has died. Right now, my Sony Vaio is not even as functional as my girls' Kindle Fires. I've tried everything that I could on my own. This weekend, we took it into the Geek Squad at Best Buy and after three hours, they informed me that it's time to retire my Vaio. This has been the best computer I've ever owned. We checked out new laptops and immediately went to the Vaio. It's pricier, but mine was worth every dime. While at Best Buy, Doug, always wanting me to be happy and having watched me bawl all weekend, said, "Get it and let's get you home to finish your Sunday School lesson." I, trying to be responsible, said, "Let's sleep on it a few days." (Sleep, meaning let me figure out how to pay for it!) While preparing my lesson, I was wishing I was working on a lovely new fast totally functional laptop. But, Dave Ramsey would be and Doug was proud that I'm being realistic!
For now, I'll limp with my old friend, Vaio. My blog may suffer for a bit, but it is what it is! Truth of the matter is... a new fuel tank, a new fuel pump, two sets of braces, three surgeries in six months and Grace's upcoming oral surgery... patience is a virtue that I needed work on anyway, right? Life is good!
