It was a very emotional afternoon for me as I dropped Grace off for her first day of work! It's official... all three of my teens have jobs and are working for a paycheck. I can't believe that this has happened so quickly! Where has the time gone.
Grace came home and told me about her day. She'd lifted heavy things, smiled at cute boys and made two friends. She was very happy! We are proud of her persistence in wanting to have a job.
I am just amazed that I have three kids working! In the past week, I put 220 miles on the Expedition and 13 of them were my personal use. The remainder was taking kids too and from work, which is what I do, pretty much all day...dropping off and picking up, waiting in between. This will fill my summer hours and I am getting lots of reading done while waiting!
Tonight, after her work, the girls and I spent an hour in the hottub gabbing about silly things that had happened to us in school... like walking into the wrong bathroom, getting in trouble from teachers and so on. I love when they open up and tell me silly stories and we can relate on their level when I share my own.
Doug and I did manage to squeeze in a movie between dinner and pick-up and his bedtime. We watched the Best Marigold Hotel something-something... Doug loved it. He called it inspirational. It was a sweet story with the Downton Abbey ladies, which was fun. It is a little slow and definitely a movie for a more mature (as in age) audience. I wouldn't buy it, but I'd watch it again.
Carol has invited me to go up to her Idaho home for a few days and I'm excited for us to have a little get-away together. We have been making all sorts of "We should this and that" kind of plans and set nothing in stone so that we can have a spontaneous time together. I feel a lot of extra calories and Diet Coke, very little sleep and hopefully, we can find a few good laughs along the way. I'm blessed with a husband who's saying, "GO! HAVE FUN!"
Life is good.
Have you seen both of these movies? The Best and the Second Best. Excellent. Loved them both, but of course the first is still my fav.
"Everything will be all right in the end... if it's not all right then it's not yet the end." ...and how could you not love Sonny.

You will have a great time with Carol. You are lucky to have each other. Do I need to come and ferry the kids back and forth to work? I should be the traveling granny! love.
