After Doug gave Quayd his blessing, Quayd stood up and gave his Dad a hug. I was sitting right next to them and snapped this picture because I had the camera close from the fashion show. As I took the picture, Doug looked at Quayd and said, "You're taller than me!" It was a momentous occasion for Quayd! He was already flying high, excited, but this sent him over the top! It also reminded me that we need to start our door with their heights here at the new home.
Another sweet moment... Grace has been talking all summer long about giving her sister a "Freshman Present". She could hardly wait for the moment last night and finally, she was able to give her a Willow Tree figurine, that she bought with her own money, to "CELEBRATE!" I love that these two girls are BFFs!
Sweet...out of focus but sweet...
Here's another crack-up pic of our son, the actor...
or a HAM!
Silly boy!
First day went well for everyone!
ZJ and I are taking a little roadtrip to St. George for the weekend. Everyone else has work and other obligations, so it's just the two of us. We are excited for the fun getaway. We're taking a car load of things down to Liza and Buddy. We'll be back for school on Monday, but plan on making the most of the weekend. We'll see my Mom while down south. She lives in the town next to Liza and Buddy. This is our first girls trip alone. We are both excited!
Life is good!
Hi Sophie I am long time reader of your blog and have shared some of my heartaches with you I lived in Pa and have since retired to FL. Ok I shared my respect for your values and faith. That said I have a question Is a blessing a prayer said over a person or child ? I am a Presbyterian and was raised a Baptist we do a laying on of hands and pray Hope this is not too invasive a question I am not familiar with the term but find it similar to my faith practice Thanks so much for sharing If this is too private a question I understand and in no way want to exploit your faith I am inspired. chatty patty
